Maintenance medications

Use the health system pharmacy with free delivery

Maintenance medications, used to treat chronic health conditions, must be filled by the health system pharmacy for at least a 90-day supply (as allowed by state/federal laws) to be covered. If you fill it outside the health system pharmacy, including an in-network pharmacy, you will pay the full cost of the medication, and this amount will not apply toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum.

Important information about controlled substances

Controlled substances may be picked-up at any health system pharmacy location or delivered to a preferred address (requires an adult to sign).

  • Delivery: If an adult will not be home to sign for the delivery, you can have it delivered to a FedEx hold-at/pick-up location. They’ll accept the package and hold it until you can pick it up. At that time, you’ll need to show a government-issued photo ID.
  • Pick up: You or someone you designate can pick up your medication by giving your full name, date of birth and address.
